We're headed over to Seth's place -- Hendershot's -- on Oglethorpe just inside the loop (next door to Transmet) this evening to take in the performance of the Rand Lines Trio with Seth sitting in on drums. Starts at 8. And Dan Nettles is passing along the cool news that Kenosha Kid has locked down the first Thursday of every month at Hendershot's. Our newest jazz venue is taking shape.
Seth Hendershot sends word that he's been up until the wee hours the past few nights getting "Hendershot's" ready to open, and he's just about done it. Tonight at 8 p.m., Kenosha Kid will be playing the inaugural gig for this brand new venue on Oglethorpe at the loop. Seth will be serving free coffee (drip). The opening of the bar will have to await inspection. And the buzz about pony rides apparently is an urban myth. So, free coffee and the Kid at 8 tonight. I'm there.
Word from Josh Cutchin, leader of the Half Dozen Brass Band, that smooth sax guru Dave Koz was in the audience last night at the Globe. Kool! Here's Dave's take on "Pink Panther."
